Advanced Micro-computer Techniques for Secondary Schools
I taught about machine code and high resolution graphics on the Research Machines and BBC computers for this Department of Education and Science funded regional course organised by Bob Lewis, my former director in Computers in the Curriculum but now moved to St Martin's College Lancaster.

This Masters level course unit to introduce the task of the modeller, was developed with Terry Hinton for teaching at the University of Surrey, using the Computers in the Curriculum Pipe simulation and Stella, the dynamic modelling system as examples.

This three day residential event was intended to give teachers a substantial start on creating digital media. I presented, ran workshops, helped organise, created the certificates and evaluated the experience of participants through an online evaluation.

I ran a workshop on creating text track and interactive movies using QuickTime. I also heard from Caroline Rye on her Phd which studied the challenges of recording live events on DVD in order to best capture proceedings. I recorded a video of a short piece of her presentation which took her advice to record from up to four angles at once.

APU Summer School '02
This summer school run by Anglia Polytechnic University to encourage young people to aspire to university had a major workshop component which Ultralab ran - I helped organise and present at this one which focussed on the business of waste handling, recycling and disposal. The young people researched this theme and produced their own digital movie to communicate the outcomes of their work.
